Today is the day that things get rockin’ a little. How about some superheros, giant robots, a hobbit and speed-babbling, cinematic genius to make you feel like Hall H finally has something worth getting in line for?

Of course keeping with the ongoing theme of Con 2012 that there really isn’t enough programming to fill out the schedule, there will be not one but two doses of “Trailer Park” on Saturday. “Trailer Park” is literally just a block of trailers, some in 3D, that really should be called “Time Filler”. To boil it down, it’s just a way to generate some cash as you have a room of rabid fans waiting to see Bilbo so what better time to force feed them some trailers? Even the best day in the Hall this year is far from perfect.

11:30-12:30 Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”- By “speed babbling, cinematic genius” I mean Mr. Tarantino. We will start the day with a sneak peek at footage from the master’s latest historical revenge pic that looks to be a companion piece to his incredible “Inglorious Basterds”. Undisclosed cast will take part as well as QT. I saw him years ago at a “Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors” touting the upcoming release of “From Dusk til Dawn” and it was awesome. I don’t know why I shared that ….I guess I’m just bragging. Sorry.

12:45-1:45 Open Road Films: “End of Watch” and “Silent Hill: Revelations 3D”- “End of Watch” is a global exclusive and is an action film about cops in south central Los Angeles. I don’t know, you tell me. They pulled out “Drive” last year and that turned out to be rather lovely so, even though this doesn’t look to be genre-fun, maybe there is some potential. Special guests Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña  will be on had as well as writer/director David Ayer (“Training Day”). Then they will trot out “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D” which is, you guessed it, a sequel to the 2006 horror flick “Silent Hill”. I’m gathering that this one is in 3D. The best aspect of the original was the visuals so maybe shooting in 3D will add some extra reason to care about this one. Cast and Crew: Adelaide Clemens (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), Kit Harington (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), director Michael J. Bassett, and producer Samuel Hadida.

2:00-3:00 Trailer Park I— Now some filler. For an entire hour. But if you want to see the Warner Bros. panel, you better sit tight.

2:30-5:00 Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Preview Their Upcoming Lineups—

Legendary Pictures: “Pacific Rim”- Or is it “Evangelion 4.0”? The man that makes the best monsters in the business, Guillermo del Torro brings you footage and lip service for his latest, and largest, sci-fi action adventure. A homage to the fundamentals of Anime, “Pacific Rim” is about huge robots fighting huge aliens. Period. And I wanna see it. Simple.

Ready for the extensive information given for the next presentation? And I quote:

Warner Bros. Pictures: “Man Of Steel”. So, Superman.

Then “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”– They don’t really tell you who will be in the room and my guess is they are still working on the movie on the other side of the globe in NZ. So probably just footage of the film, which is great, and who ever is available. Probably a live video free from Mr Jackson. And I’m sure Andy Serkis will make it.

5:15-5:45 Trailer Park II- You know how you pay $18 bucks to see a movie in 3D Imax and they still try to sell you with 24 minutes of trailers before the flick? Just remember, you just paid $175 for your 4 day with preview to watch trailers. A whole bunch of trailers.

6:00-7:00 Marvel Studios: “Iron Man 3”- After the mild success of “The Avengers” this one is going to be huge. The press release is only touting “Iron Man 3″ as the featured feature but it also says “Join Producer Kevin Feige and special guests as they provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Who will they trot out? Who are these “special guests”? The world may never know. That’s not true actually.  Let’s hope for some big news on the other projects. Maybe “Iron Fist” or “Black Panther”. I’d like to see an official announcement that Edgar Wright’s “Antman” is going to happen.

7:15-9:15 Comi-Kev: Q&A with Kevin Smith- As is tradition, filmmaker and professional talker will hold his Q & A to close out Saturday in the Hall. Waring: Adult language but you already knew that.

That’s it. Some things to get genuinely excited about. Sunday is T.V. Day again or, since Friday was T.V. Day, maybe we should call it “T.V. Day II”?
