How many times can you put the word “mega” into a news article?
Let’s find out….
The folks over at Dreamworks Animation are really pushing their upcoming animated film, Megamind. Even though the film isn’t released until November 5th, the entire month of October has been declared “Mega Month” with events scheduled all across the country. These events include Mega regional contests, Mega marathon weekend races and Mega food festivals. Just recently, Will Ferrell (who provides the mega creepy voice for the mega villain, Megamind) broke a Guinness World Record when he was joined by a crowd of 1580 costumed enthusiasts that just couldn’t wait for the San Diego Comic Con next summer to gear up.
This weekend Megamind with assume control over the Pacific Beachfest in San Diego, California and the invasion will include a hand crafted Megamind sand sculpture standing over 6 feet tall which will be created throughout the day, a Megamind Kids Action Area, face painters, interactive displays, water tag and photo opportunities with Megamind himself. There will also be plenty of mega free giveaways that will include passes to an upcoming screening.
The Beachfest will take place Saturday October 9th at the Pacific Beach Boardwalk
between Diamond Ave. and Thomas St. from11 a.m to 7:30 p.m.

How was the PB event?
Didn’t make it but one of my ninjas went and said it was a good time. That is a direct quote. “It was a good time.”
